Summer is over. It's time to get back to work!
Yes, summer is over, and the sad news is that I haven’t done much on Code Breaker during the summer. It was quite busy at work, and that left me tired in the evening. I was also busy with the kids activities. My kids were both playing soccer so it meant at least two practices each on different nights and the games that could be at night or during the weekend.
At the end of August, I wanted to get back to work on the project but after so much time out of it, it felt like a Herculean task. I could not find the courage nor the energy to jump back into it. That was the Sherbrooke Gaming Expo held on September 12th and 13th that helped me to get motivated. Many local independent studios were present and were showing their games. After testing and playing their games, I remembered why I had started all this. It was possible for me too to create games and be successful as they were.
So I got back to work and today, I’m quite pleased with my progress. I have translated the game in French, so now the game is completely bilingual. I have almost completed the menus except for a small part in the options menu. I tested it on iPhone, and although the change of display orientation is causing an issue (things are not realigning correctly), the rest is working very well.
I still have a lot of work to do. Things such as: allowing for the change of difficulty level, adding buttons to turn the music and sound on and off, and of course, fixing the remaining issues. But I’m confident I will complete it shortly.
From now on, I will try to post an update on my progress at least once a month so stay tuned for more for more updates to come.
